"subtle changes make significant differences"
Then when we got into class time I started making some compositions using the watercolours/drawings I had done on the weekend.
Matt came over as I was having an initial play with a composition involving a photograph and my newly created watercolours.
He discussed my matrix with me and the importance of consistency between the compositions I create for each activity/location. He seemed to like what I was starting to put together but was concerned that the style might not work for all 4 of my locations/activities.
I wasn't feeling inspired working with these elements so moved on to working on a composition for my sunset location. Fay came over and liked where I was going with it and suggested using a heart shape instead of a triangle for the photograph. (see image)
I then moved onto my next activity/location of the bar.
This one was a bit more of a struggle to get the imagery to reflect the romanticism of a bar rather than the sleaze factor.
After class I was working on this composition and Fay came over and told me it looked more like a "one-night-stand" than a romantic evening out.
I then got to work on my 3rd location/activity; The Lighthouse Cinema Cuba and came up with the below composition.
I haven't yet had time to work on my 4th location/activity of the picnic at Percy's Reserve but I felt like it was more important to start putting the imagery I had created into an InDesign document with some Lorem Ipsum text so that I could get some feedback on the text/layout element of my work.
So I created 3 double paged spreads for tomorrow's class:
