I have really been struggling with adding the photograph element into my composition representing the Lighthouse Cinema....
This was my initial composition
(too graphic)
This just wasn't working. I was struggling with where to crop my image to.
I then tried to go for something simpler. I liked the idea of putting the images into the film strip but it wasn't giving enough depth/strength to the image.
Then I just went too over complicated with it.
This was a nice idea but you couldn't depict the image - if I didn't tell you, you probably never would've guessed that it was a wide view of the inside of the cinema.
I then moved the hands to the top and started to get more inspired with the composition.
I also brought back in the idea of the photos in the film strip, and this feels much more successful than my previous ideas.
I then needed to work on my composition for picnic-ing at Percy's Reserve.
I felt much more comfortable with the elements I had selected to put together for this composition. And I quite quickly came up with the below composition which I really like.
